15s are a local Northern Irish cake which are a little like flapjacks but even tastier! They are made with simple ingredients and are best served with a wee cup of tea or coffee.
Normal 15s are made with 15 digestive biscuits, 15 marshmallows, half a can of condensed milk and coconut flakes (hence the name). However, these ones are chocolate protein 15s, so they are a little different. They are also a treat without the cheat! Great as a tasty pre workout snack or at the end of a productive day!
These protein cakes contain 4.3 grams of protein per serving and they are around 135 calories per slice. Get even more protein if you double the size of your slices!
Ingredients:
🥛 200mls of condensed milk
🍪 15 plain digestive biscuits
🍫 6 teaspoons of cocoa powder
🥤 2 scoops of protein powder (we used millionaire's shortbread flavour by Protein Works but you can use any. If you don't have a chocolate flavour, maybe leave out the cocoa powder and make normal biscuit flavour 15s)
Method:
1. Simply break up the biscuits into fine crumbs, either with your hands, in a bag or a food blender.
2. Next, in a large mixing bowl, mix together the crumbs, protein powder, cocoa powder and condensed milk.
3. Finally, place this into clingfilm and shape into circular log. Place in the fridge and refrigerate overnight or until hard.
Once ready, slice into 16 slices and serve alongside a nice warm cup of tea.
As I said before, this is a very simple, easy recipe which makes some delicious high protein snacks!
