Tropical Protein Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

If you follow us on social media, you know we love a good protein smoothie bowl! There is no better way to start the day than a workout and a healthy breakfast smoothie which is both high in protein and great for muscle recovery.

Below you will find the most delicious protein smoothie recipe you will ever try. It is low calorie, at about 300-350 calories per portion and more than 40 grams of protein. Not to mention it can be used as a healthy low calorie diet breakfast recipe. However, if you are bulking to gain bigger muscles then why not double the portion or have this as a protein snack?

What you'll need:

This is a simple recipe and so you won't need to go out and buy many ingredients which you will be happy to hear.

  1. A little less than one scoop of vanilla protein powder (or any flavour you want to use)

  2. About 20ml of milk (literally a drop)

  3. About 10ml of water (literally a drop)

  4. A teaspoon of peanut butter.

  5. Two teaspoons of oats (we used protein oats but any fine oats will do)

  6. Two cubes of ice (not necessary but makes it nice and cold)

  7. 160-170 grams of frozen tropical fruit mix (we bought ours in Tesco and it is called 'Tesco fruit breakfast topper'. It has strawberries, peach, pineapple and mango chunks.) Add more if you want a bigger smoothie.

  8. Fage natural yogurt (any yogurt will do but this one is high protein and fluffy)

Preparation

As with any smoothie, the preparation process is nice and quick. So you even have time to quickly make this before work or before that first gym class at 6:30am 💪

  1. Add the milk, water and ice into your blender.

  2. Add in the protein powder, fruit, peanut butter and oats. Leave out the Fage.

  3. Blend the ingredients together until smooth. If your blender is really struggling with the lack of fluids, try shaking it a little or if not, pop in a little more water or milk.

  4. Grab a bowl and put in about two tablespoons of Fage. Then put your yummy smoothie mix on top. This should be more of an ice cream texture than a smoothie texture so that you can scoop it out like yogurt.

  5. Then add in another tablespoon or two of Fage to one side of the bowl .

  6. Add any additional fruit to the top of the Fage. We used fresh blueberries on ours. Yum! 😋

This delicious, quick smoothie will provide you with at two of your five a day, a massive protein hit for quick muscle recovery and energy for the day, as well as being low calorie. I made one this morning and I have literally thought about it for the rest of today because it was so good! Trust me, you won't be disappointed with this high protein breakfast smoothie.
