Recipe For Low-Fat Protein Banana Ice Cream

Ever wanted some creamy, healthy, high-protein banana ice cream? Look no further than this simple recipe!

It's no lie that ice cream is usually unhealthy and full of fat, so you'll be happy to know that this recipe uses mostly natural, fat-free ingredients to lower the calories and give you better gains! As well as providing you with a healthy high protein ice cream treat!

INGREDIENTS

1. Protein Powder (I used Salted Caramel from Bulk Powders) If you subscribe to MEANPROTEIN you could try this recipe with new flavours every month!

2. Skimmed Milk (although any variety of milk will work)

3. 0% fat Greek or natural yogurt (you can also use the ones with fat)

4. Vanilla Extract (possible the most fundamental ingredient)

5. Four bananas

6. Yellow and Blue food colouring if you want your ice cream to be vibrant.

HOW TO MAKE HIGH-PROTEIN ICE CREAM

Before reading any further, you'll need a blender or a good electrical whisk/mixer to be able to blend up. So make sure you have one of these to make your life easier.

Firstly, take off the skin of the bananas and chop them up into smaller pieces. Then freeze them for at least 5 hours.

Once frozen, add the banana bits and about one-two tablespoons of Greek yogurt to the blender. Then add a scoop of your favourite protein powder (remember, if you subscribe to MEANPROTEIN protein subscription box, you can try this delicious ice cream with new flavours every month). Next, add 100-200mls of milk to the blender, along with a generous amount of vanilla extract. I would recommend at least a teaspoon to make this ice cream sweeter. If you have a sweet tooth, I would also recommend adding sweeteners to the mix too or sugar if you do not have sweeteners.

If you want a colourful ice cream like I made, you'll need to add food colouring. I'm going to be honest and say that the blue food colouring that I bought tasted a lot better than the yellow. So, if you use yellow, I would recommend adding sweetener as suggested above.

Then, blend it all together either in your blender or mix it up with an electric mixer in a bowl until smooth. If you need to, add more milk to help blend.

This simple protein ice cream really is as easy as that. Now, you just need to freeze this for at least two-three hours until solid.

Once ready, take it out of the freezer and let it melt for a little while before serving up this yummy but also healthy protein banana ice cream! This recipe serves two.
